    The Ground Operations Intern will gain insight into the operation on one of the largest airline networks in the world, combining a student’s academic and career interests with valuable work experience in the commercial air carrier environment. The Intern will be assigned a mentor to work with who is responsible for monitoring their progress as well as assigning tasks and special projects.


    • Assist with developing and distributing communications and/or manual revisions.
    • Conduct research on government regulations, industry standards and best practices.
    • Conduct on-site evaluations of airport operations (travel may be required).
    • Conduct passenger experience observations (travel may be required).
    • Assist in conducting gap analysis of airport operations programs.
    • Assist with process mapping and testing/implementation of identified improvements.
    • Assist with corporate real estate management.
    • Computer work, in a typical office environment sitting for the majority of the day.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    • Currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree such as Business, Transportation/Logistics, Aviation, or Aviation Management with junior or senior class standing as of fall 2018.
    • Ability to work a full-time schedule, 40 hours per week, during normal business hours, 8:00am to 5:00pm, during the assigned schedule
    • Ability to work and be based in Minneapolis, MN
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a business environment
    • Above average written and communication skills
    • Strong PC skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
    • Effective organizational, time management, & multi-tasking skills
    • Prior analytical experience (data analysis/reporting) or database management experience preferred
    • Repetitive motion such as typing
    • Minimal physical exertion such as: pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking, and light lifting of boxes, bags files, and electronic equipment not in excess of 30 lbs.
    • Travel as necessary
