Overview

The Endeavor Air OCC (Operations Control Center) is the nerve center of the airline and central point for the development, deployment and communication of each day’s operating plan and the consequent management of daily flight operations.

The OCC Intern will gain experience by assisting the OCC team in meeting and assisting the daily operation to ensure the airline meets the expectation of the customers to provide a reliable, efficient, and above all else, safe service.

The OCC is comprised of many talented aviation professionals with diverse backgrounds and experience in all facets of the industry. Dispatch, Crew Scheduling, Maintenance Control and Maintenance Planning make up the OCC.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the IOSA audit by learning our manual system, importing information, and articulating findings.
  • Audit NOTAM’s in Sabre Audit Routings in Sabre, Endeavor’s flight planning software (NOTAM stands for Notice to Airmen, which contains information essential to personnel concerned with flight operation.
  • Update and maintain AVTEC phone directory (Endeavor’s telephone and radio hub).
  • Assist Manager with reports and pulling information, such as 3+ hour delays.
  • Communicating to Flight Control operations with issues such as Air Start INOP (out of service equipment) or airport now requiring an alternate.
  • Update and maintain Phone Directory in Sabre as well as the AVTEC Phone Directory to keep them in sync.
  • Report software and equipment issues to open tickets with the Delta Help Desk and monitor Bridge Lines as necessary.
  • Update the OCC EFB’s (electronic flight bags) as required.
  • Assist the Bridge during IROPs (irregular operations) as directed (communicate information to stations, Atlanta, Delta OCC, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree program such as Aviation Management or Air Traffic Control with Junior or Senior class standing.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a business environment.
  • Above average written and communication skills.
  • Strong PC skills including experience in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Effective organizational, time management, & multi-tasking skills
  • Prior analytical experience (data analysis/reporting) or database management experience preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Computer work, in a typical office environment sitting for the majority of the day.
  • Ability to work full time (32-40 hours/week) during weekdays, with some schedule flexibility, if needed.
  • Ability to work and be based in Minneapolis, MN.
  • Repetitive motion such as typing.
  • Minimal physical exertion such as: pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking, and light lifting of boxes, bags files, and electronic equipment not in excess of 30 lbs.
  • Travel as necessary.
