Overview

Crew Planners are responsible for the production of trip construction (pairings) and the awarding of flight schedules for Pilots and Flight Attendants using Pairing Optimizer and Preferential Bidding System (PBS) software on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze marketing schedule for best possible solution and integrate the monthly schedule by applying knowledge and understanding of crew pairing programs and Company objectives.
  • Apply knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations/FAR’s (FAR 117 and 121) and contractual obligations as they pertain to pilots and flight attendants.
  • Coordinate, compile, and post monthly Pilot and Flight Attendant bid packets.
  • Document, track, and integrate all Pilot and Flight Attendant leaves of absence to ensure schedule optimization.
  • Coordinate with Crew Training Resources to ensure crewmember Training events are accounted for in the Monthly Schedule build process.
  • Manage and award crewmember Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY).
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and documentation of moving day benefits requests.
  • Communicate, train, and provide answers to crew member questions regarding Preferential Bid System bidding, outcomes, and mis-award claims.
  • Operate and track Preferential Bid System process including FAR’s and contractual requirements to ensure operational integrity.
  • Manage Pilot and Flight Attendant Annual and Monthly Vacation Bid and Award process, to include the administration of the Monthly Personal Vacation Day (PVD) bid and award process.
  • Actively assist in enhancing Crew Planning process and procedure. Work with software vendors to identify and troubleshoot issues and improve software yield.
  • Maintenance, monthly updates and tracking of Crew Planning files and documents.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2-4 years of relevant airline experience preferred.
  • Reliable and self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Analytical, interpretive, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining close attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations/FAR’s (FAR 117 and 121) preferred.
  • Knowledge of pilot and flight attendant collective bargaining agreements preferred.
  • PC proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, and general internet applications

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Able to work additional hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 10%)
  • Computer work, in a typical office environment, subject to critical deadlines.
  • Can involve long periods of sitting and repetitive motion such as typing.
  • Position requires some physical exertion such as pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking and light lifting of boxes, bags, files, etc. not in excess of 30 lbs.

Minimum Position Pay Range

USD $24.00/Hr.

Maximum Position Pay Range

USD $26.00/Hr.
