Overview

The Operations Control Center Duty Manager manages the daily flight operations in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and performance goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision over on-duty Dispatchers.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient dispatch of company aircraft.
  • Reviews weather, maintenance data, and crew resource factors to develop an effective operating plan.
  • Coordinate with appropriate departments and personnel to maintain operational control.
  • Manage irregular operations (IROPs).
  • Initiate all required delays/cancellations and ensures all affected departments and personnel are promptly informed.
  • Ensure that all flight operations are conducted in compliance with applicable FARs and company procedures.
  • Coordinate flow of operational information to all departments and stations for use in planning.
  • Constantly monitors system wide weather.
  • Review and analyzes system flight progress.
  • Ensure daily events are recorded in dispatcher shift log. Compiles daily performance reports.
  • Input appropriate data to Delta Airlines computer system to maintain current flight status information.
  • Review aircraft maintenance status and ensures that aircraft status board is kept updated.
  • Retrieve hourly weather and specials for all stations and alternates and notes changes which may affect operation.
  • Monitor field conditions, winds aloft and NOTAMS for entire operation.
  • Oversee routing and re-routing of aircraft and Flight Crews to maintain schedule integrity, and to accommodate maintenance requirements or Crew legality.
  • Ensure ferry permit paperwork is completed and Dispatcher has thorough understanding of restrictions and limitations as well as how to apply.
  • Coordinate with Daily Scheduling to ensure efficient utilization of Pilots and Flight attendants.
  • Ensure departmental guidelines are adhered to.
  • Can involve long periods of sitting.
  • Computer work, in a typical office environment, subject to critical deadlines.
  • Performs Dispatcher functions when operationally required or necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and related experience
  • 2 years of airline dispatch operations experience
  • Licensed part 121 aircraft dispatcher (requires a minimum age of 23)
  • PC proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Position requires occasional physical exertion such as pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking and light lifting of boxes, bags, files, etc. not in excess of 30 lbs.
  • Ability to work extra hours as required
  • Limited travel up to 15% may be necessary

Minimum Position Pay Range

USD $90,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Position Pay Range

USD $110,000.00/Yr.
