Overview

We’re seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Director of Technical Services to lead innovation, safety, and reliability across our aircraft maintenance programs. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering excellence, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead with vision: Oversee Engineering, Fleet Reliability, Maintenance Programs, and Condition-Based Maintenance to ensure industry-leading safety and performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement: Optimize maintenance strategies to enhance reliability, reduce costs, and support operational excellence.
  • Strengthen partnerships: Serve as the primary technical liaison with OEMs and industry groups to influence best practices and product improvements.
  • Empower teams: Lead and develop a high-performing team of engineers, analysts, and managers to deliver results and foster innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the Engineering, Fleet Reliability, Maintenance Programs, and Condition-Based Maintenance activities.
  • Collaborates with the Maintenance, Supply Chain, Quality, Training, Planning and Technology organizations to achieve industry-leading safety, operational and reliability results.
  • Determines objectives, formulates and controls plans, policies, and procedures relative to the maintenance, inspection, safety, and reliability of aircraft to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company requirements.
  • Identifies opportunities to optimize the maintenance program to improve reliability and reduce cost while maintaining the highest levels of safety.
  • Responsible for the supervision and guidance of managers, maintenance engineers, and reliability analysts.
  • Responsible for the disposition of all incoming Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Service Newsletters, and Manual Revisions to determine applicability and initiation of appropriate program changes or Project Authorizations and FAA approvals as required.
  • Supports the technical review of component repairs and drives product improvements relative to component reliability, adverse trends, and vendor performance.
  • Responsible for cost analysis of aircraft and component repairs. Also develops budget recommendations based on engineering analysis.
  • Ensures participation by the Engineering Department in industry working groups, in particular those related to operation of the Endeavor Air fleet.
  • Primary technical interface and responsible for achieving and maintaining strong working relationships with applicable aircraft and component Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an aviation-related technical area is preferred and 5 years of experience leading a FAR Part 121 airline technical maintenance organization; or
  • 10 years of experience leading a FAR Part 121 airline technical maintenance organization in lieu of a bachelors degree.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), aircraft reliability analysis methodologies, engineering processes, and maintenance programs effectiveness.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant mechanics license is a plus, but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience with refining and implementing effective processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Must be experienced in effectively working with and managing a diverse and inclusive workgroup.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Position requires some physical exertion such as pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking and light lifting of boxes, bags, files, etc. not in excess of 30 lbs.
  • Can involve long periods of sitting.
  • Computer work, in a typical office environment, subject to critical deadlines.
  • This position requires daily on-site presence in our MSP headquarters with occasional travel to maintenance bases and other locations as needed.
  • Work additional hours as necessary.
