Overview

Endeavor Air is seeking a visionary leader to serve as Director, Crew Resources, a pivotal role driving the strategy and execution behind our crew operations. Reporting to the Chief Administration Officer, you’ll oversee a team of 22 and partner with senior leadership to optimize staffing, planning, pay, and network alignment for operational excellence.

This high-profile role shapes crew strategy, drives innovation, and fosters strong labor partnerships —ensuring Endeavor meets financial and operational goals while delivering a world-class experience for our crews.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategic Impact: Define and execute the vision for crew resource planning, aligning staffing and training with network growth and operational goals.
  • Data-Driven Leadership: Oversee advanced modeling and analytics to forecast staffing needs, optimize schedules, and maintain compliance with FAA regulations and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Labor Relations Expertise: Serve as a member of the negotiating committee with pilot and flight attendant unions, resolving complex issues and fostering collaborative relationships.
  • Operational Excellence: Expand the use of cutting-edge tools (Rainmaker, Jeppesen, AdOpt) to enhance decision-making and efficiency.
  • Executive Influence: Deliver insights and strategy decks to the C-suite, shaping decisions that impact Endeavor’s performance and reliability.

 

What We’re Looking For

Responsibilities

  • Leverage processes to drive crew efficiency to meet crew direct financial operating targets while maintaining operational performance.
  • Determine airline block hour capacity through collaboration with maintenance (MX) and Delta Network.
  • Forecast long range crew staffing and training plans to align flying demand with new hires, upgrade, and various training events.
  • Oversee inputs of the crew staffing models to ensure efficient staffing methodology, training, vacation allocation, absence plans, and credit.
  • Work directly with Labor Relations and Labor Unions to resolve crewmember issues, grievances, and investigations. Negotiate with Labor Unions as a core member of the company negotiating committee.
  • Develop and maintain statistical crew utilization data, model reporting, and strategy decks on a monthly and ad-hoc basis for C-suite review.
  • Manage and set operational crew buffers (Block, FDP, Rest, Connection) using predictive modeling.
  • Provide guidance to operations and senior management in the administration of the pilots and flight attendant contracts as related to crew resources.
  • Expand the utilization of software tools (i.e., Rainmaker, Jeppesen, AdOpt) to identify opportunities to enhance decision making.
  • Responsible for the analysis of monthly network schedules to ensure operational, crew, and maintenance needs are met.

Other Duties

  • Foster productive working relationships with internal operating departments and external customers e.g., DL network planning, Delta Connection.
  • Oversee and identify the most efficient manners to build pairings and lines, flow, and completion of the monthly bid process and interface.
  • Oversee the Network Planning team, optimizing aircraft rotations to crew while satisfying MX needs.
  • Ensure contractual crew bidding, schedule/position awards, and pay process and timelines are aligned with crew contracts.
  • Foster a positive working relationship and environment with pilot and flight attendant Union committees.
  • Stay informed on the development of new automation / processes within the industry to enhance crew efficiency / productivity and crew pay. Attend conferences representing Endeavor as an industry leader and share best practices.
  • Manage and continually work to develop and improve the process of efficient and effective ways of administering crewmember pay, pay changes, absence management, and termination.
  • Coordinate between Crew Resources and Crew Scheduling management teams to ensure consistent schedule and pay coding practices.
  • Ensure adherence to all FAA Regulations, Company, and Departmental Guidelines.
  • Manage employee performance, provide feedback, create performance evaluations, administer discipline, and participate in employee investigations and terminations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Lead a team of 22 professionals, including three direct reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting or related.
  • 5+ years of experience leading people required.
  • Two (2) plus years of airline operations preferred.
  • Master’s degree in business administration or aviation management preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of FAA Regulations and crew contracts as they pertain to crew rest and duty time, line construction, and flight training preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical process skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and cognitive skills. Creating spreadsheets, charts, and trending data experience required.
  • Ability to lead tactically and strategically as required.
  • Broad knowledge of PBS, Jeppesen, Rainmaker, CAE products (i.e., CrewTrac), and MS Office Suite software preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience with a focus on building employee strengths and teambuilding required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Must be able to work extra hours including weekends/holidays, and travel when necessary.
  • Some physical exertion such as pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting, such as boxes, bags, and electronic equipment not in excess of 30 pounds.
  • Can involve long periods of sitting.
  • Involves some repetitive motion such as data entry or tying, as well as longer than normal hours and potential stress during irregular operations.
  • Work is performed in a typical office environment subject to critical deadlines.
