Overview

The Instructor Supervisor, Tech Ops Training provides leadership and oversight for the Technical Operations Instructor team, ensuring high-quality, consistent delivery of instructor-led training (ILT) programs in compliance with company policy, FAA guidance, and industry best practices. This role is accountable for ILT content integrity and instructor performance, while also supporting the success of the Designated Station Trainer (DST) program. 

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction for Tech Ops Training Instructors, including supervision, coaching, scheduling, and performance management. 
  • Ensures instructional quality and content integrity by conducting observations, evaluations, and feedback sessions in accordance with the GMM, approved curricula, and industry best practices. 
  • Manages the planning, scheduling, and execution of all instructor-led training (ILT) courses, ensuring delivery meets regulatory requirements and organizational standards. 
  • Maintains accountability for ILT content, verifying alignment with approved manuals, task cards, and curriculum updates. 
  • Leads the Designated Station Trainer (DST) program, providing training, guidance, resources, and ongoing support to ensure program effectiveness and participant success. 
  • Performs course evaluations to ensure content consistency with curriculum requirements.  
  • Coordinates instructor availability, training facilities, equipment, and courseware to optimize resource utilization and operational efficiency. 
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for instructor and ILT-related matters, addressing performance, scheduling, and delivery issues. 
  • Supports onboarding, qualification, and ongoing development of instructors. 
  • Collaborate with Program Administrators and Training Coordinator to ensure ILT sessions are properly scheduled, documented in the LMS, and executed without disruption. 
  • Partners with Instructors and Curriculum Developers to review and update ILT content and training programs, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Monitors class execution and resolves issues impacting training effectiveness.  

Other Duties

  • Performs all duties of a Tech Ops Training Instructor when operational needs require.  
  • Carries out additional responsibilities as defined in approved or accepted company manuals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the Manager Tech Ops Training, the Supervisor will provide leadership and oversight for Tech Ops Training Instructors.
  • This position directly supervises 6 instructors on the team.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.  
  • Minimum three years of airline Maintenance Operations experience (preferred).  
  • Familiarity with airline policies, procedures, and standards (preferred).  
  • A&P license or Repairman certificate (preferred). 
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and general internet applications. 
  • Proven ability to develop and implement training curricula, preferably in an airline environment. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities; strong work ethic; reliable, self-motivated, and positive attitude.  
  • Ability to adjust to rapid changes and manage multiple priorities effectively under time constraints.  
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the role; some travel required. 

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Ability to perform occasional physical tasks such as pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 lbs.  
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform computer-based work in an office environment under critical deadlines.

USD $75,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Position Pay Range

USD $106,000.00/Yr.
